LakeFest
Pine Lake is a haven for visual artists, musicians and writers. Each year, in the month of October, it has been a tradition here to bring together all of these talents for one of Pine Lake's favorite community events: LakeFest.
This year, after a two year hiatus due to Covid, LakeFest will return on October 15 and 16. On that weekend, the lakefront will be transformed into a juried art market, featuring local and regional artists and crafts people of all disciplines displaying their handmade wares. All-day music on the Willow stage, family games and activities, street performers, food trucks, a floating parade with wildly-decorated watercraft, a pet show, and other diversions are sprinkled through the two days. Cozy "conversation coves" offer the festival goer a relaxing respite from shopping, eating and dancing.
Now in its 20th year, the festival is sponsored by Pine LakeFest, Inc., a nonprofit volunteer organization. Admission and parking are free; visitors park on Rockbridge Road near the entrance to the city and take a shuttle to lakefront.
